How It Works
Initial Assessment
All Myofunctional Therapy programs begin with an initial, comprehensive assessment. This allows us to complete a detailed review of your health history and thoroughly discuss your symptoms so we may address the root cause of the problem. During the assessment we also perform a structural and functional exam of the oral and facial muscles.
Investment
After the initial assessment, a treatment plan will be presented with an estimated treatment fee, treatment length, and payment options. The number of sessions will very depending on your symptoms, severity of OMDs present, and your commitment with practicing the exercises given. Our goal is providing you with exceptional Myofunctional Therapy services.
Exercises
Myofunctional Therapy is all about re-programming and changing habits, behaviours and muscle patterns to improve the way you breath, chew, swallow, speak and rest your tongue. You or your child will be given specific, personally designed exercises to practice at home. The key to your success and lasting results is how dedicated you are to the program and how consistent you are in completing the exercises given. Your success is important to us, we make every effort to help you or your child succeed.

Will My Benefits Cover OMT?
Benefit plans are chosen by you and/or your employer and may include Myofunctional Therapy as an eligible, covered service. We are happy to provide you with the Dental Hygiene procedure codes or a predetermination form at your initial assessment should you need to look into your coverage. During treatment, payment receipts and claim forms will be provided to you and may be submitted manually to your insurance provider. Any portion not covered by benefits may be claimed as a tax deduction under the health expenses portion of income tax forms.
